Ingredients

  • 1 cup lentil
  • 2 white onion, diced
  • 1 dry red chili
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of cumin seeds
  • A pinch of black cumin seeds
  • 1 ripe tomato, diced
  • 2 cups water
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the lentils for 10 minutes in water. Drain well.
  2. In a pot add the lentils, 2 cups of water, turmeric, and salt.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes on high heat.
  4. Add the tomato and cook for 5 more minutes.
  5. In another pan heat the oil and fry the dry chili.
  6. Fry the garlic and onion until they become brown. Add the cumin seed and black cumin seed.
  7. Fry for 1 minute and add the mix to the lentil pot.
  8. Cook for 10 minutes on high heat, add the coriander. Serve hot.
